Dinah’s…If We Were Having Coffee 2/12/21….

Hello my friend!

Thanks so much for stopping by for a cup of coffee and a chat. I’ve missed you. How have you been? I hope you’re surviving winter and that you’re still finding things to feel happy about!

If we were having coffee, I would be delighted to see you. And I would celebrate having some time together!

I would tell you that the last couple of months have been quite challenging. Being responsible for my brain injured brother’s care has been tougher than usual lately. He is trying to adjust to a new facility and, as we all know, change is hard. And change without the benefit of family support, because of the pandemic, is pretty ugly. So…If you have some good energy or goodwill to share… Please send T.C. some good vibes. He’d be grateful for your kindness.

If we were having coffee… I would admit to having a problem with a few pandemic pounds. So I am now investigating the benefits of keto… I think both my husband and I are going to try it. It looks like it’s a healthier way of life… Now… Just to start it… That’s the hard part. Wish me luck. I’ll keep you posted.

I would also admit to the fact that I am realizing that, without a schedule, the week gets away from me and my blog gets ignored. I’m not quite sure how I managed to find something to write about every single day in November… And then to be almost MIA in January and February. I’ve only been doing this for about four months but… I clearly have more to figure out. I don’t like the fact that my blog is having so much downtime. So I’m going to have to start prioritizing it and doing some more regular/scheduled writing. That’s the plan for now anyway…

I’m thinking about scheduling something called… Wisdom Wednesday… As you know, I enjoy esoteric spirituality. I’m currently taking a Hebrew shamanism class and loving every second of it. I’ve also studied several other esoteric traditions. So I thought it might be fun to at least schedule Wednesdays as a time to explore a different esoteric topic each week… I hope you will tune in and join the conversation.

So that’s my news, dear friend. I’m really glad you visited. If you’re a fellow coffee share Blogger, I will be stopping by to say hello on your blogs as well.

I hope you have a wonderful week.

And I’m so glad you’re here.💜

The weekend coffee share is hosted by Natalie The Explorer And you can find more coffee shares Here

  3. Hi Dinah, I did miss you last weekend and wondered. You know. doing right by your brother cannot be easy, but it is the right thing to do and the time has to come from somewhere, unless you want to try blowing off sleep. . .

Just know that you’re missed when other priorities take you away. If your brother likes to read and laugh, send him my way. My stories of growing up, likely should have put me in the hospital some times, but are fun to laugh at now.

Perhaps, a bit of laughter therapy would help? For example:

    1. Thanks Gary! Prior to his brain injury he would have loved that! He’s still very much a reader. But he doesn’t go on the computer much anymore… Shocking because he was a whiz! He even did a podcast on how to use the operating system Lenox/Ubuntu…. i’m told real computer people prefer that system over Microsoft. So I’m not quite sure why he doesn’t get on the computer more. Brain injury is tough to figure out on so many levels!
Thanks for your kind thoughts! Did the group zoom gathering ever get scheduled?

  4. Send good thoughts your brother’s way.
After I had been blogging 6 months or so I came up with a schedule. I still follow it to some small degree, but now it is mostly the challenges that dictate my blogging. There is a weekly poetry challenge and two fiction challenges that I do. Of course, there is the coffee share. And then I host The Weekly Smile. That pretty much fills my week!
Hope your weekend is going well and that you have a wonderful week ahead 🙂

  6. I know the feeling on pandemic pounds. Would love to try and go low carbohydrate. Just read a book about a UK politician losing weight via a Keto method, reversed his Type 2 diabetes very easy read and moving. He appears on a Dave Asprey podcast ‘From Sugar in Tea, To Butter in Coffee: Tom Watson’s Weight Loss Story #542’

    1. Hello!
Yes I’ve read a lot of impressive information about keto. A cardiologist in the US wrote a book called WHEAT BELLY. He tells all his patients to stop eating wheat and they all get better!
Thanks for the podcast info. 😊

  7. Good morning, Dinah! 🙂 So sorry your brother is having to deal with such change. It can be hard in the best of circumstances, and these aren’t. I’m with you on time getting away with you. It’s hard to believe it’s been a whole year now since this pandemic was acknowledged. So much has changed in our lives, so many have walked onto to heaven’s shores leaving us here. It is a different “normal” for sure. We went out to eat this week, in-dining…first time since last February. Wow, it was different…too quiet in the restaurant, and even the food tasted different. Maybe we’ve just grown accustomed to home-cooked and like it too much. Hope your brother’s next week is better. Stay safe, dear one. Shalom, Bear

    1. Hi Bear!
Yes! These are strange and challenging times! My husband and I haven’t been to a restaurant since last March… and we used to go out every week! Congratulations on your first outing! I’m guessing this new normal is here to stay for a while.
Thanks for your good wishes for my brother! I appreciate you!
      Wishing you a gentle week.
Shalom to you my friend 💜

  9. I’m trying to get back to regular blogging after not blogging for well over a year. It’s not going great but I’m not giving up. I used to rely on Silent Sunday and/or Wordless Wednesday when I had little or nothing to say. Those two just require a photo or a meme or some kind of graphic. Those might be good to have up your sleeve.

    1. Thanks for the tips. Those are great ideas! Truthfully, I’ve never been great at consistency. But there’s always hope…right?
Join the coffee share each week….that’s helping me to at least post weekly.
Thanks so much for visiting. I hope to see you again!
