Dinah’s Coffee Chat 11/5/21

Hello my friend!
It’s been a while since we’ve had a coffee chat. How are you? I’m hoping you’re staying happy and healthy.

Grab a cup of coffee and I’ll fill you in on life in my neck of the woods….

If we were having coffee….I’d tell you that it’s been a bit of a roller coaster around here. My brother in the nursing home continues to decline. Trying to figure out how to manage his care is a constant challenge for all involved. We all keep trying our best.

If we were having coffee….I’d also have to share the sad news that my other brother died unexpectedly a few weeks ago. Like all siblings we had some very good times that created wonderful memories and we had some extreme challenges. The important thing is that he is now at peace… As am I.

The reality of the previously mentioned challenges and changes have occupied much of my mental and emotional bandwidth. Daily details went into soft focus as I had to integrate yet another passing. I’m sure some of that process and work will make its way into some future posts here…..how could it not?

If we were having coffee…. I’d ask for your thoughts and prayers for my husband and for our cat, Alaska. Both are dealing with some health issues that we’re hoping can be resolved easily and soon….and, since energy always follows intention, your thoughts and prayers can only support their health process!

On a lighter note, we have had a gorgeous fall… Shockingly warm and absolutely beautiful! I’m hoping that this is a sign of a more gentle winter ahead of us.

Also… I am back in the November NanoPoblano writing challenge. Many of us have agreed to a more bite-size challenge this year. Instead of committing to a blog post every day, we are committing to at least 10 posts this month as well as at least 10 days of reading and commenting on other people’s posts and 10 days of cleaning up our own blog space…I’ve already added four other posts to my blog this week… So if you haven’t stopped by in a while, there’s more stuff to read now. Feel free to check it out.

During November you can read other NanoPoblano bloggers here- https://cheerpeppers.wordpress.com/2021/11/01/nanopoblano-2021/comment-page-1/#comments

If we were having coffee….I would want to know how you’re doing now with the changing of the seasons. The days are getting shorter. The nights are getting longer. How are you doing as we move toward the end of this year?

I’m hoping that all is well in your world.

I’m glad you’re here 💜

The weekend coffee chat is hosted by Natalie the Explorer And you can read more coffee chats HERE

  1. Hi Dinah,
I missed you and worried that you might be tired up with assisting your brother. Sorry to hear I was correct. Prayers are coming your way.

The seasons are changing here and we’ve even had our first big storm, but given this is California, our big storm is most everyone else’s mild annoyance. We had lots of wind and over 15 inches of rain in less than 48 hours. One corner of our yard always floods when this happens, so flood it did.

You’d be proud of me. I have two stories almost ready to release. One is my second long story and right now I’m adding a last scene and trying to keep the length down below 15k words. this one is a SciFi battle scene that could become part of a larger novel. It’s kinda nerdy but I really like it. The other has to be less than 1000 words which makes me crazy because I always want to much detail included. but it’s a darker story that I still worry about being over the top for what I want to share publicly. We’ll see.

I hope your brother has a great coming which will help you have one two.
But you also added you cat and husband.

This is sounding like something of pile-on Dinah exercise. So prayers for some family healing followed by about 25 years of full peace and health for all of you.

    Blessings.

    1. Thanks Gary! Yes…it’s a lot right now and I’m tired. But we all cycle through the tough stuff now and then. I keep reminding myself that nothing is permanent… Everything changes… So, this all will pass at some point also!

Congratulations on your stories. I hope you can get them exactly the way you want them!

And I’m sure the flooding is a nuisance but so glad you guys are getting rain. You so desperately need it out there!

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful week!🌺

    1. Thank you for your kindness! Yes, it’s been a challenging time. Our cat is going in for a biopsy today… There’s a good chance that she has mouth cancer… Heartbreaking! I always think that pets and children should be spared from these painful realities!💜
