Magic—Day 14/30

The memory is still there. It’s still vivid. Magic was so real to me. Magic seemed as real as rain or snow or wind…. just as real and just as elusive…

Like the weather, I didn’t understand where it came from… But I knew it was all around me. I knew that the quickest way to magic was through my dreams!

I remember flying in my dreams
And since walking was challenging, flying felt like a gift. I looked forward to flying in my dreams.

Do you remember flying?

I remember dreaming about living underwater. Swimming was a way of life. And since I never really learned how to swim, I looked forward to swimming in my dreams.

Do you remember floating through life?

I remember a frequent dream about having a pet lion, his mane was huge and he went everywhere with me. He protected me and made me feel safe. And, since safety was hard to come by, I looked forward to being with my lion in my dreams.

Do you remember feeling lion sized safe?

I grew up on gentle witches and genies.
I was sure magic was as real as air…
I just needed to remember

I still believe in magic. A different kind of magic now, but it’s still magic.

Do you remember magic?

  1. I hear you, Sister! 🙂 Last night I watched the movie “Mary Poppins Returns”. All of our children are grown and out of the house, so my husband walked in the room and thought I was silly to choose such a movie. I told him that I was watching it for my “inner child” that still lives in the world of imagination and magic. I sat there with a smile on my face most of the movie. It felt real to my inner child, and she needs to be acknowledged and given space in my life.
