So many worlds collide in order to create each human life. The coming together of two people, two bodies, at least two cultures and families and on and on.
We start this journey, being taught, being molded, being corrected and trying and trying and trying.
So much learning. So much striving. We feel lucky if we have goals and direction and process. These are the things that make us feel safe.
And when we’ve done all of that…
The learning and striving and running after that which seems important… If we’re lucky, we learn the truth.
We learn that this journey wasn’t about that at all…
And then we spend time unlearning.
We release
We let go of artifice… It wasn’t ours anyway.
We let go of striving… That was never meant to be our path.
We let go of expectation… That was part of someone else’s process.
And we finally learn to breathe.
If the stars align, and if different worlds collide, we get to awaken into the reality that this entire human journey was simply about being.
And if our luck holds further …
We do just that!
I’m glad you’re here💜

I say I agree. I even call my blog The End Justifies the Journey. I learn a lot, unlearn some, aspire for things, let go of things, share….

Thanks for visiting and for reading! Yes, Rumi said life is finding the balance between holding on and letting go. Blessings 🌺

I’m so pleased that you published this poem! It’s definitely one to keep close at hand. Breathing beyond the constraints of pathways that were never meant for us feels especially important when we’ve selected a creative life.
