Hello my friend….
It’s been a while since we’ve gotten together for coffee. How are you? I hope life is treating you well!
Grab a cup of something you love and let’s chat…
If we were having coffee… I would of course, tell you that I’m thrilled to see you. It’s good to connect with friends!
For those of you who have followed my blog for a bit, I would tell you that I have finally been able to move my brother into a quality healthcare facility. He is finally receiving good, consistent care. This has taken a huge weight off my shoulders. While I’m immensely grateful, I do have to state that our healthcare system and long-term healthcare system are in trouble. It shouldn’t take this much work to find a facility that gives good care! We, as a nation, should be able to do much better than this. And since all of us are impacted either personally or through family members… I would encourage everyone to take this seriously.
If we were having coffee….I’d share with you that I recently decided/remembered that I started this blog as a way to write authentically about real things. I had veered off for a bit into the PollyAnna/cheerleader realm. And it was NOT a good fit. You can see that post here. So I’ve regained my perspective and am now intending to embrace and discuss whatever pops up….in other words….real life.
If we were having coffee… I would tell you that I’m feeling what my friend Arionnah would have called… Divine Discontent! That’s usually a good thing. It means that something is on the horizon. I’m not sure what that is… perhaps a writing class or a painting class… Something to expand the way that I operate in the world. I don’t know what it is yet but I am actively watching for it! It’s sort of like that feeling when you’re definitely hungry but you can’t figure out what you want to eat, what you’re hungry for! It feels like that… All the time lately… I even wrote about it here…
It’s summer in the Midwest which means it’s a beautiful time of year! We’re in the middle of a significant drought (7 inches behind in precipitation) which causes concern for crops and animals. But it’s still beautiful. And I appreciate every gentle day!
And you, my friend… How are you? Have you been taking good care of yourself? Are you doing anything to expand your horizons? Feel free to share in the comments below.
And, until we meet again for coffee… Know that I’m glad you’re here!💜
