Dinah’s Holiday Hello

Hello my friend!

So….the holidays have arrived. They tend to do this every year whether we’re ready or not.

This year I feel acutely aware of the vast differences in where we all are emotionally during this time that Hallmark has branded as joyous and magical. And, for some people, it really is wonderful….to those folks, I say….Congratulations on winning the golden ticket.

But, for others, the holiday season is tough. So this post is for you. This is a quiet reminder that you’re not alone.

If you’re struggling with any of the million things I could list here….like grief or depression or financial stress….(you get the picture)…please hold on and be gentle with yourself.

If life is tough during the holidays… Then this is the time when you need to treat yourself the way you would treat an upset child… Be extra gentle with yourself. Give yourself more rest, more quiet time, more peace. Look for things to smile about. Re-Watch movies you like. Listen to music that warms your heart. Give yourself the gift of kindness.

And remember that the sadness or the grief or the angst that you’re feeling now absolutely will not last. Emotions ebb and flow. You will feel better again!

You’re important. You matter. The very fact that you’re here means that the world needs you!

You are loved.

I’m glad you’re here 💜💜

  1. I don’t know anyone who had a Hallmark Holiday experience — they’re probably just staging for Instagram/social media. Then again, I live in Southern California where it doesn’t snow. The “holiday feeling” is more like seeing lights everywhere or going to some light show.

    1. Hi Julie

Yeah….the Hallmark people are probably the exception rather than the rule. But tv and social media will still try to convince us otherwise.
I’m hoping your holiday was whatever you were hoping it would be.
      Wishing you peace, my friend.
