This Isn’t True, But It Could Be

This isn’t true but it could be

In high school, I had a wonderful friend named Sue. We used to explore the woods together several times each week. Sue was an Appaloosa and we lost touch when I left for college.

Now she visits me in my dreams and we ride again…

We become light and sound and movement and stillness all at the same time

We travel everywhere while seemingly standing still

We are surrounded by everything and nothing at once

Fullness and emptiness share the same amount of space

And we weave ourselves into the fabric of all of it. We are it. And it is us

We ride where there are no property lines or time demands, where weather can’t dictate the day.

We communicate through heart and soul without forethought, the way music whispers its hidden message to your cells.

Our time together is never long enough and yet it’s always perfect….it’s just for now. And now is all that’s real.

This isn’t true. But it soon could be.

Thank you to Ra Avis for the writing prompt!

I’m glad you’re here💜

That is ABSOLUTLY beautiful Dinah. She’s a marvel and it captures ‘our’ sentiment, doesn’t it. I’m going to print that.

Thank you so much, your ever loving sista-friend, Les
