If we were having coffee 10/30/20…..

Oh so happy to see you!
I’m so looking forward to these coffee Saturdays leading to new friendships and to the rekindling of communication with some longtime friends.

If we were having coffee I’d tell you that I’ve now tried walking with my crutches a few times. I fell Thursday morning because I’m still trying to figure out how to do it all with this rod in my arm. I didn’t break anything, so it’s all good….well maybe not “good,” maybe just ok. And ok is enough for now.

If we were having coffee I would try to discern how flexible you were feeling. Could my newest experiences in shamanism sit peacefully between us or would it be an awkward and unwelcome addition? I would try to remember that, what is exciting and thought provoking for me, may not be a comfortable part of our coffee chat for you. Maybe another time.

I would want to know how you’re doing as events in the US reach a crescendo next week. We can all feel the energy building day by day. Politics and the virus make such strange bedfellows! Then add in the most active hurricane season in years and we can all feel hard pressed to find some good news. I’d want to know if you’re finding good news and/or enough things to celebrate.

If we were having coffee I’d say that I believe that, if you can’t find any good news, then that’s your absolute cue from the Universe to CREATE some! We need to, occasionally become the creator of good news!

So what can we do to create some good news? I’d grab my phone, start a draft email (because that’s how I make my lists) and we could start firing some ideas off.

We could:
-pay for the order for the car behind us at McDonald’s…give someone some good news
-send a few cards to friends to brighten their day
-send an email or make a call with the sole intention of telling someone how much you appreciate them and why
-buy a big bag of birdseed and dump it out in your yard for any of the neighborhood critters to enjoy…this is especially helpful in winter
-go through your closets and pull out the stuff you don’t need and donate it to a domestic violence or homeless shelter
-volunteer somewhere…

Or, if we simply lack the energy to create….there’s always nature to go and enjoy to soothe our fatigued souls! Taking a walk or sitting WITH a tree can be wonderfully rejuvenating!

If we were having coffee I’d take my own advice and I’d tell you how much I appreciate you visiting today! I’d tell you that your friendship is important to me because you’re so uniquely you! There’s only one you and I’m so grateful that you’ve chosen to share your youness with me!

If we were having coffee, I’d celebrate you!

I’m glad you’re here!

PS….NaNoPoBlano daily blog posting challenge starts Sunday, Nov. 1, 2020. I hope you’ll stop by and support us! You can learn more and see all the participants here: https://wordpress.com/tag/nanopoblano2020

    1. We do the birdseed thing daily in the winter. My husband dumps a big bag out frequently for any of the neighborhood creatures that need food. It’s fun to watch them! I highly recommend it!

Oh Dinah, I would love to have coffee, maybe virtually now that I have moved to Wyoming. I would ask you if your arm still hurts and tell you how brave you are working with crutches. I would ask you if the Angels will tell you how much longer I will have this sciatica issue. I would love to know more about shamanism. Hugs my friend! Lesleigh (Leigh)

    1. Hi Leigh
I’d love to do a zoom chat!
I have decided to look at my recent fall as a gift from the universe. I was so worried about falling again… Now I feel like the universe has said… OK, you fell, you survived, Move On!

I hope your sciatica clears up soon… maybe we could do a meditation together on zoom?

Love this! You know I’ll have virtual coffee with you anytime and discuss shamanism and so much more. So sorry to hear you fell. May the Universe be there to hold you up as you grow stronger every day. 🤞 Happy Samhain and a good Celtic New Year

Good morning! AHO! It’s really good to sit here with you this morning. Man, this old tree has quite a story to tell, wouldn’t you say? If we could see the world from it’s perspective… what would it say? I’m sitting in here in the US of A and I have to say it’s a different world this year. I don’t ever remember seeing such violence, hatred, and anger as I’ve seen emerge in the past few years. To be honest, at the moment, I feel ashamed for our country. I just can’t fathom the depths of – well, there’s no good word besides ‘evil’ – that we’ve come to. That said, I’ll be so glad when next week is over. I’ll be taking most of the week offline, detached from television and radio. I’ve already cast my vote. Need a break from it all. Going to be focused on NANO (National Novel Writing Month) for the next few weeks. Happy writing to you. I assume that Nanopablono has something to do with writing? Anyway, good luck with it!

    1. Lovely to spend some time with you! And yes ….I’d love to know what stories this old tree could tell. What wonders we could learn from it!!
Good luck in your week of limited connectivity! That sounds like wonderful self-care to me!
Yes!! NaNoPoBlano is a November blog challenge. Our goal is to write one post per day for the entire month of November. I have only been doing this a week so… I’m diving into the deep end of the pool! But I’m looking forward to it. If you do decide to jump in to the Internet… Feel free to stop by! Bring some popcorn and we can watch the world go by!
Good luck in your November writing challenge!♥️

Great I might just do that. For me, the challenge is 50k words in 30 days. Two years or so ago I wrote 358k. Oh did my hands hurt for that one… But, when you’re on a roll…. Have fun, and as my hubby says: see ya down the waterfall ( a HAM radio term). 😄

  4. Oh no, I’m sorry to hear you fell! I’m glad you didn’t hurt yourself worse. Hope you heal up quick.
I’d love to hear about shamanism! And I love the idea about creating good news. I have a post up my sleeve for our Nano Poblano on sort of the same topic. Thank you for the virtual coffee and Happy Halloween!

    1. Thanks for stopping by and thank you so much for the well wishes. Unfortunately, falling is part of the job description when you have a physical disability. Not something I would choose… But….such is life❤️
I will start thinking about shamanism posts for the month of November. And I am really looking forward to your good news post! Thanks again for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Also… If I am correct… Are you the person who posted about getting a new apartment in a passive home? If so, I tried to comment on your post and it wouldn’t let me. I’m not sure what that was about. Just wanted you to know that I loved your post and I’m thrilled for you! I hope your weekend is fabulous!!

  5. Hello Dinah,
Great to have you back. I especially like your idea of making some good news. One of my favorite times of doing this was way back in college, after a wild but wonderful high paying summer job. I was left with more money than I needed so I anonymously paid off the tuition of a gal who was fretting about not having the money to pay it off herself and was afraid she’d have to drop out. Her joy was a delight to watch and lifted the spirits of many of us.
Great days, but that was one wild job and one I would not want to repeat.
    Glad you stopped by.
Let’s do it again next weekend.

    1. Hi Gary!
Thank you for stopping by! I love that story! Good on you!
I have had to spend this afternoon getting ready for my Shamanism Class tomorrow so I am behind in my reading and commenting. But I will be looking forward to reading all of everyone’s posts later and tomorrow…

Yes, I absolutely plan on making this a weekly visit!

I hope the rest of your weekend is wonderful!

    1. We love doing that! We live outside of the city limits and dump a huge bag every day or so. We see deer, turkeys, opossum, pheasants… It’s so much fun to watch them! I hope you have fun too! Thanks for stopping by🌹

    1. Yes… I have often said that the news, these days, it’s like driving past a car accident. As you drive-by you know you shouldn’t look, but you just can’t help yourself and you look anyway… That’s the way I feel about the news. I know I shouldn’t watch but I do anyway. It does, however, keep me motivated to put more good things out into the world to compensate for all of the negativity… We all need more good vibes! Wishing you peace and happiness each and every day!
