Saying YES…Day 21/30

Meeting new people and developing new friendships is challenging as we age…or at least as I age. Most of the people in my life are friends that I’ve known and loved for years. And I feel lucky to have them! But I’m always open to adding to the list of people that I call friends.

Last week, Don and I stopped at the pharmacy. While we were there, I saw a Spam Christmas ornament. My college pal Sara, loves spam. Whenever I see it, I think of her and remember her making it on a hot plate in her dorm room. How could I not buy that ornament for her? So Don grabbed it for me.

As we were heading to the check out, a woman saw the ornament in his hand and started talking to him. She was laughing and telling him how she once got stuck in Minnesota. So she and her friend decided to tour the spam museum! I didn’t even know there was such a thing.

She was very friendly and outgoing. We started talking and realized that we had many things in common… A love of crystals, a belief in the law of attraction… There was definitely an easy vibe between us.

When we left the store, I said to Don….I really liked her! I think I’d enjoy hanging out with her.

This week, we had to stop at that same store to pick something up. When we went in, I thought about that woman and kind of hoped that I would run into her again. I kept my eyes open as we picked up the things that we needed. As we were getting ready to leave, I was a little disappointed that she wasn’t there.

And then I turned the corner to head to the checkout… And there she was. We had another conversation where we became aware of even more things that we have in common… It felt like we could have talked for hours and hours.

Finally, I said to her that I really enjoyed her company and that I thought that there was quite a bit that we could learn from each other. We exchanged phone numbers.

Who knows where this will go or what will develop. But, exchanging phone numbers felt like we were saying yes to the Universe. I believe that the Universe lines up opportunities and synchronicities for us… For our benefit. It always, always feels better to me to say yes to an opportunity. And I think that every time we say yes to an opportunity… We invite more opportunities to come our way.

I hope you get the chance to say yes to an opportunity very soon!

I’m glad you’re here💜
