I saw an old friend today
Not a text
Not a Zoom call
Actual face to face time
It was wonderful
Why do we wait so long
to see the people we love?
We sat in a restaurant
for 3 hours
Talking, laughing,
Our past/present/future blended into
Shared memory/experience/appreciation
Isn’t that what friendship is?
We choose
We choose openness and vulnerability because we sense a kindred spirit
We choose to know and honor their story as they honor ours and our shared stories create another story….
We create the utterly unique tale of our
Friendship
It’s a choice that needs to be made
repeatedly, mindfully, earnestly if it is to survive
I hope to become better at tending to my friendships.
I’m glad you’re here 💜

Always wonderful to connect in real time with friends. We don’t do it enough in our modern society that’s for sure. Everybody is so busy I find. Always running the rat race. But social interaction is so essential to function as a human!

So sorry for my delayed replies. This was Thanksgiving week in the US and I got behind.
Yes…more time with friends would do us all good I think. I hope to do better moving forward.
Thanks so much for stopping by my friend 💜
